I was never that into name tags, magnetic or otherwise, but recently I read an article on the benefits of using them and it got me thinking. Maybe part of the problem my customers were having in relating to my staff had to do with the fact that they couldn’t remember their names! You know how it is when you’ve been dealing with someone for a long time but you still haven’t learned their name? And then its way too embarrassing to ask.

Well, I found out that had become a problem. But I didn’t realize it until I decided to buy everyone their own name badge. But these weren’t just any old badge. These were handmade jewelry, unique badges that my staff actually wanted to wear. This eliminated a lot of the hassle of having to remind everyone to put on their badge. Most of my employees are women, and they absolutely love jewelry. Situation solved!

Now my customers remember my employees names, my employees think I’m a great boss, and I even made more money last month than I had in over a year. Coincidence? Maybe. But in this economy, you don’t want to look a gift horse too closely in the mouth.
