How I Used My ATT Uverse Connection to Save My Brother-in-Law’s Front Lawn
Ever have weeds in your lawn that you can’t seem to get rid of? Larry, my brother-in-law, has been recently battling nut sedge, or nut grass. It seems this particular weed is not a broadleaf, thus it is not killed by normal lawn weed-killers. His local gardening shop told him most of the sprays that will kill it will also kill the grass it is growing in. When he called to ask me if I knew how to kill it, I told him to come on over and we would fire up the lightning fast Internet connection that was just installed with my family’s new ATT Uverse service. And that is exactly what we did.
I have found that you can learn just about anything online. When it comes to nut sedge, it appears that prevention is the most effective cure. The best suggestion we found is to use a core aerator to pull out lawn plugs and then apply a corn gluten meal — like a type of organic weed ‘n feed. By giving the lawn a good feeding it will prevent the nut sedge seeds from germinating. Larry was pretty impressed, and wanted to immediately upgrade his Internet service. AT&T isn’t available where he lives, but he did find a great deal with CenturyLink, which used to be Qwest Internet, and now his connection is just about as fast as mine. Larry said I taught him a lot about looking things up online. Thank you, Larry. It was my pleasure.
