I was searching for the perfect birthday gift for my cousin last Monday and decided to forgo the jewelry shops in favor of the internet. That was an excellent idea! Mostly because I found this detailed sterling silver turtle pendant which I never would have known about otherwise. And when I discovered that it was actually crafted by an artist in the USA, I knew I had to have it.

Why do I feel so strongly about this? Well, if you’ve been paying attention to the economic climate, you might agree with me that supporting our country’s entrepreneurs might be a good idea at this time. Anyway, that’s my own personal priority. So that’s one reason why I’ve decided to purchase more of these delightful sterling silver pendants over the year for the more than 20 female family members who have birthdays.

But of course the main reason is that I love this artist’s work, and wouldn’t mind owning all of these marvelous designs some day myself! My problem is I get much more of a kick out of buying things for other people. Must come from being a mom for so long.
